Paranormal Activity enjoys more box office success as it claims the top spot in Australia from New Moon.
The horror movie has reached the top of the box office in American and the UK, steadily climbing up the rankings to eventually become number one.
New Moon had to settle for the number two spot but grossed a further £2.5 million . There was another new entry inside the top three and that came in the form of Where the Wild Things Are.
After a string of set backs Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's novel has finally got it's release.
The movie follows Max, a disobedient little boy sent to bed without his supper, creates his own world--a forest inhabited by ferocious wild creatures that crown Max as their ruler.
2012 fell two places to number four while Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs also dropped two places to five to make way for this week's new entries.
Taking of new entries Zombieland, which topped the U.S. box office opened at six while The Informant, which stars Matt Damon, was new at eight.
This week's biggest fallers came in the form of A Christmas Carol and The Time Traveler's Wife who both dropped four places to nine and ten.
