Paranormal Activity has jumped to the top of the UK box office in it’s second week of release, ending New Moon’s reign.
The has enjoyed gradual success, mirroring what happened in America reaching the top spot after five weeks.
After a young, middle class couple moves into a suburban 'starter' tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep.
A Christmas Carol jumped one spot to two while New Moon dropped from the top spot after two weeks to number three.
Despite dropping two places the movies has grossed £23.5 million in the UK alone and took a further £1.6 million at the box office this week.
The first new entry came in the form of animation Planet 51 which opened t number four. Gerard Butler’s latest movie law Abiding Citizen held onto the number five spot for a second week.
Despite poor reviews in America The Box was a new entry at eight while The Descent Part 2 was another new entry at nine.
