Oliver Stone has finally opened up about his new movie Wall Street 2 to reveal that Gordon Gekko is not a big a character as in the original movie.
Michael Douglas returns to the role that brought him an Oscar in 1987 and he is joined by Shia LaBeouf and Josh Brolin.
In an interview with the Associated Press the director said: "The individual Gekko would no longer exist in this new Wall Street.
"The big players now are major banks and hedge funds. The money's too big.
"Wall Street can be the engine of capitalism and create opportunity, but they increasingly have not done that because there's more money in speculation." he continued.
As the global economy teeters on the brink of disaster, a young Wall Street trader partners with disgraced former Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko on a two-tiered mission: To alert the financial community to the coming doom, and to find out who was responsible for the death of the young trader's mentor.
Wall Street 2 is released in the UK 23rd April 2010.
