Actor Woody Harrelson is to renew his association with Oliver Stone in a film based on My Lai Massacre the latest Vietnam war movie, from the Director.The film 'Pinkville' will co-star Bruce Willis in the film based on the infamous My Lai massacre, according to trade paper the Hollywood Reporter. Harrelson is to play a colonel in charge of the taskforce that committed the 1968 massacre, where US soldiers killed over 500 men, women and children. Hundreds of Vietnamese civilians were killed in cold blood at the hands of US troops who had been on a "search and destroy" mission to track and destroy units of communist fighters. An enquiry later found that there had been no firefight with the enemy - not a single shot was fired at the soldiers of Charlie Company, and the 48th Viet Cong Battalion - the intended target of the mission - was nowhere to be seen. The event became a turning point in the public view of America's role in the Vietnam War. Harrelson most notable role under Stones direction was in the 1994 film Natural Born Killers, while Pinkville will be Stone's fourth film set in Vietnam.following on from the 1987 Oscar-winner Platoon.
Filming is set to start next year on the $40m (£19.9m) film.
