Noomi Rapace has admitted that she didn't want to return to the character of Lisbeth Salander in the U.S. remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Rapace has shot to fame in the central role of Salander in the Swedish adaptation of Stieg Larsson's popular novels but didn't want to return to the role, even with David Fincher behind the camera.
Speaking to IndieWire the actress said: "I never met him, nobody asked me and I didn't want to do it. It's interesting when people think you're always full of s**t because I always said that I'm done with her, I did everything I could."
"When it was [announced] that is was David Fincher, people came back to me and said, 'Okay, have you changed your mind because it's David Fincher?'. No, why should I?
"I respect him, I think he's great but never, I can't see any reason to do it again. It's up to somebody else."
Despite the likes of Carey Mulligan and Emma Watson being linked to the central role it's Rooney Mara who will play Lisbeth in Fincher's new movie alongside Daniel Craig.
As for Rapace she has already completed work on Baby Call and is all set to film Clean Out with Mads Mikkelsen and Timothy Dalton.
