Nicollette Sheridan will not be returning to Desperate Housewives as the show is brought to a close.
The actress played sexy real estate dealer Edie Britt on the popular comedy drama, but her character was killed off after being electrocuted in 2009.
Sheridan went on to file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against show creator Marc Cherry last year (10), accusing him of slapping her when she expressed an opinion about a script he had written, and firing her when she complained to producers.
But Cherry sparked rumours he was preparing to make amends with Sheridan over the weekend (07Aug11) when he announced the upcoming season of the show would be its last.
During a Television Critics Association meeting in Beverly Hills, Cherry admitted he was contemplating bringing Edie Britt back to life for the series finale - although he had yet to come up with a way to make that happen.
He told reporters: "I don't know how I would do that, but I have an idea for the last episode in which I want to pay homage to everyone who's been on the show before. So, we'll see what happens with that."
However, Sheridan insists she has not been approached to resurrect her role - and she has no intention of returning to Wisteria Lane.
Speaking on U.S. TV show Today on Monday (08Aug11), she said, "That's news to me... I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her. She's dead."
