Luhrmann Fences Off New Movie As Tourists Flock To Bowen.... Moviemaker Baz Luhrmann has been forced to fence off the set of his new movie Australia after film fans descended on the sleepy coastal town to catch a glimpse of stars like Nicole Kidman.Luhrmann and Kidman won't start shooting the new film until later this week (beg07May07), but Bowen in Australia has already become a huge tourist attraction.The Moulin Rouge director has turned part of the North Queensland town into early-1900s Darwin for his historical epic after pal Russell Crowe, who was once attached to the protect, told him of Bowen's charms.And town mayor Mike Brunker is so delighted his town has been chosen as the site for the film, he's planning to turn the fictional inn Kidman runs in the movie into a real pub.He says, "I'd like to have a licence for that."Brunker tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph that Luhrmann and his cast and crew are facing difficulties as they attempt to film in peace.He adds, "A lot of people are coming in to take photos... People are coming in on their holidays."In the film, Kidman will play an English aristocrat, who finds herself in an unlikely partnership with a cattle drover (Hugh Jackman).
