Nicolas Cage has revealed that it was creative differences that led him to turn down a role in The Green Hornet.
Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz are already on the cast list for the film, the release date has been pushed back to December 2010, and Cage was in talks to take on the role of Chudnofsky.
But the actor has admitted that it was creative differences between director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Seth Rogen that led to him re-thinking taking on the role.
In an interview with The Canadian Press he said: "The Green Hornet was something that I wanted to do, I think Michel Gondry is very talented and I had hoped it would work but I think Seth Rogen and Michel had a different take on the character."
"I had to have some humanity and to try to give it something where you could understand why the character was the way he was but I don't think there was enough time to develop it."
It's been a busy year for the Oscar winning actor with the release of G-Force and Knowing as well as Kick Ass and Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans to be released later this year.
He is currently filming a live action version of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, based on section from Fantasia that starred Mickey Mouse.
