New Moon

New Moon

New Moon has retained the top spot at the U.S. box office for a second week with another impressive gross of $42.5 million.

The vampire franchise has enjoyed major success at the global box office and has so far grossed over $473 million so far.

There was no movement in the top three as The Blind Side held onto the number two spot and 2012 stayed at number three.

But there was a new entry at four in the form of Old Dogs which sees Robin Williams and John Travolta team up.

The pair  star as two best friends, one who is unlucky-in-love divorcee and the other a fun-loving bachelor.

But they have their lives turned upside down when they're unexpectedly charged with the care of 7-year-old twins while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives.

The not-so-kid-savvy bachelors stumble in their efforts to take care of the twins, leading to one debacle after another, and perhaps to a new-found understanding of what's really important in life.

A Christmas Carol held onto the fifth spot while there was a new entry for Ninja Assassin at six.

Planet 51 dropped three places from four to seven while Fantastic Mr Fox jumped from twenty four back into the top ten at nine.
