The Twilight Saga: New Moon has dominated the UK box office this weekend as it stormed to the number one spot.
With a gross of £11.6 million the movie comfortably toppled 2012 from the top spot as the movie has enjoyed huge success around the globe.
The adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's second novel sees Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart return to the roles of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, the roles that shot them to fame last year.
The third film Eclipse has already finished shooting and will be released next summer.
2012 had to settle for the number two spot and was a long way behind New Moon with a £.4 gross.
A Christmas Carol also dropped one place from two to three while there were also one place drops for Happy Brown and Up to round off the top five.
The Coen brothers' latest film A Serious Man was a new entry at number eight, it's only their second movie sine the Oscar success with No Country For Old Men in 2008.
Despite doing well on the festival circuit and being a hit with the critics Matt Damon's new movie The Informant could only open at number ten.
