Natalie Portman has admitted that she struggled to leave her character behind at the end of the day because she worked so hard training for the role.
The actress has won over critics and audiences with her performance in her new movie Black Swan, which saw her pick up a Best Actress Golden Globe at the weekend.
Portman underwent intense ballet training for the role as dancer Nina and she struggled switching off when the cameras stopped rolling.
Speaking to Bang Showbiz she said: "I like to shut off the character as soon as I'd finished, whether that's finishing a take or going home for the day. It was really difficult because I had so much training outside of work to do.
"When work was done then I had to go to the gym, and then I had to get up at 5am and work out before. There wasn't really any time to just relax and be myself."
"Balancing the physical with the emotional because sometimes just to do a certain move you need so much concentration, my mouth would be hanging open and I'd have a concentration face, it'd be all furrowed.
"Half the time they were just trying to get me to not have my tongue sticking out. And then to add on to that I have to be acting!"
With her Golden Globe win on Sunday the actress is now the favourite to take the Oscar next month.
And we are going to be seeing plenty of Portman on the big screen this month with the Other Woman, No Strings Attached, Your Highness and Thor all due for release.
Black Swan is released 21st January.
