Natalie Portman has revealed that she felt 'aftershocks' of her role in Black Swan.
The actress stars in the Darren Aronofsky directed movie which is already being tipped for award success.
But the actress has called the shoot one of the most physical and emotionally demanding of her career.
Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "It was really extreme. And I definitely felt both physical and mental aftershocks from the experience, because it was the first thing I've ever done that was this physically demanding on top of an emotionally demanding part.
"And it's great. I mean, the kind of discipline that it demands also puts you in that space for the acting part. But yeah, it affects you in ways.
"I'll probably figure out how it affected me in, like, five years. I'll look back and go, 'Oh, that's why I did that and that and that.' "
Black Swan is the first movie for Aronofsky since his critical hit The Wrestler and also stars Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel.
And Portman hasn't stopped working this year as she has already completed No Strings Attached, Your Highness and blockbuster Thor.
Black Swan is released 21st January.
