Miranda Cosgrove has admitted that she would love to develop her acting career by moving into movies and taking on more serious roles.
The actress is currently the star of Nickelodeon's iCarly, in which she plays the lead character, but reveals that she would love to shoot an independent movie.
Speaking to New York Magazine the actress said:"Right now we're on our third season, and we're doing another season after this. I'm not sure after that.
"I definitely want to mature, my dream is to get to do serious movies," she said.
"I always go to see independent movies - I saw Cyrus last night with my friends - I love going to the movies like that. I'd love to be in a great independent film."
It's really difficult, you have to make all the right decisions, and be a little lucky. Also, I want to go to college. I have tutors on set. Right now I only have math left, which I'm trying to finish so I can have a little summer break."
The actress can currently be found at the top of the U.S. box office as her new movie Despicable Me, in which she voices the character of Margo, has opened at number one.
Despicable Me opens in the UK 15th October.
