Mickey Rourke has revealed that it is unlikely that he will appear in Iron Man 2.
The actor has been linked with the superhero franchise over recent weeks but it's rumoured that a paycheck of $250,000 seems to be the reason behind Rourke not committing to the project.
He told New York Magazine: "Right now wea re not doing Iron Man 2. Director Jon Faveau was linked with the role of Crimson Dynamo but then was linked with the role of Whiplash.
Since the role of Randy 'The Ram' Robinson Rourke has seen his star once again rise n Hollywood as Golden Globes, Baftas and Oscar nominations have come his way.
Work has come rolling in since the critically acclaimed The Wrestler with roles in Killshot, The Informers, 13 and The Expendables all to come.
But Iron Man 2 casting has been fraught with troubles after Terrance Howard, who played James Rhodes, was replaced by Don Cheadle. Earlier in the week it was revealed that Emily Blunt may not be able to take on the role of the Black Widow due to scheduling conflicts and may be replaced by Scarlett Johansson.
Robert Downey Jr and Gwyneth Paltrow are returning to their roles of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts and Sam Rockwell is also linked to the movie.
