Michael Sheen has revealed that his experience on New Moon was 'quite extraordinary'.

New Moon is the second film in the Twilight movie saga which sees Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart return to their roles as Edward and Bella.

Sheen joins the production as  new character vampire leader Aro.

In an interview with Empire the actor said: "That was quite extraordinary being the old, ugly one among loads of young, beautiful ones. It's not something I'm used to really," he joked

"It was quite encouraging to see how Robert [Pattinson] and Kristen [Stewart] are committed to it, how much they put into it and how serious they are about it. They don't take it lightly at all so that was great to see.

"I'm all done on it. I had a great time. It was nice to go in and not be playing the main part, just go in for a few days and play this really really extraordinary character."

The actor was in London earlier this week to collect his OBE from Buckingham Palace.

New Moon is scheduled for a November 2009 release.
