Michael Sheen came face to face with the real British monarch when he was honoured during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (02Jun09).
The 40 year old, who portrayed former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the hit film, was made an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to drama.
Sheen said he was "thrilled" with the honour from British royal Queen Elizabeth II - but also puzzled as to why he was handed the status.
He says, "This is a huge honour. I am both thrilled and slightly mystified, but very grateful."
The Queen was a huge hit back in 2006 and it was the second time that the actor had played Blair after taking on the role in The Deal.
Since then Sheen has gone on to star in Frost/Nixon, as journalist David Frost who interview disgraced President Richard Nixon over the Watergate Scandal/
Later this year he will appear in New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, as well as it's sequel Eclipse. he is also set to play the White Rabbit in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
Sheen was accompanied by his daughter Lily, whose mother is actress Kate Beckinsale.
