Michael Fassbender has revealed that he hope Prometheus stands up against Alien.
The actor is part of an all star cast as Ridley Scott returns to the sci-fi genre for the first time in over thirty years.
Prometheus, in which Fassbender plays android David, is set before events of Alien, and the actor hopes the movie can stand the obvious comparisons.
Speaking to Elle the actor said: "I hope it stands up against Alien.
"Ridley's amazing, such a nice guy too, there's a real energy and youth to him."
"A lot of these directors have a wicked sense of humour. [David] Cronenberg was the same. He spent all the time taking the p*ss."
Fassbender is joined on the cast list by Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Guy Pearce in what is set to be one of the biggest sci-fi movies of the year.
Prometheus is released 1st June.
