Michael Fassbender

Michael Fassbender has revealed that he tried to learn as much as he could from co-star Viggo Mortensen.

The pair have joined forces in David Cronenberg's new movie A Dangerous Method, which also stars Keira Knightely.

And while Fassbender admits that he was nervous about meeting The Lord of the Rings actor he had nothing but praise for him.

Speaking to Collider the actor said: "First of all, I was nervous about meeting Viggo Mortensen. Then, very quickly, we just got along. He's very supportive and generous. Obviously, he's very well prepared.

"They started filming with Keira and I first. When Viggo arrived, there was nobody at the airport to meet him because nobody knows when he's going to be there. He got a rental car and turned up on the set. He's a very interesting guy.

"He writes poetry. He takes photographs. He's very artistically rich. I just tried to watch him and learn, as much as I could."

A Dangerous Method is the first movie for Cronenberg since Eastern Promises, which also starred Mortensen.

A Dangerous Method is released 10th February.
