Michael Bay

Michael Bay has admitted that he had had enough of the Transformers world that he has created and looks unlikely to return for a third instalment.

Bay bought the popular toys to the big screen in the summer of 2007, a film that was a hug e hit going on to gross over $708 million at the global box office.

Despite the second film not even being released Dreamworks and Paramount have announced, back in March, a release date for a third movie.

It now looks like Michael bay may not be aboard that project.

In an interview with Total Film the director said: "It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France. But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers.

"After the three-and-a-half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world.

"I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions."

He will take on a producer role for his next three projects of A Nightmare on Elm Street m Fiasco Heights and The Butcherhouse Chronicles.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is out now.
