Matt Damon says that the days of mystique are gone.
The Oscar winner believes that the old days when movie stars were surrounded in mystery have disappeared - but admits that fame has worked out quite well for him.
Speaking to Metro the actor said: "I think those days of creating mystique around yourself are long gone.
"It's sad when you see people trying to do it because it just doesn't work any more. So why not have fun with it?"
Of life in the spotlight, Damon added: "'When you first get famous, it's really surreal. Everything about the way the world relates to you changes.
"And now that's died down, I've been left alone to do the work I want to do. It's perfect, I wouldn't want it any other way."
Damon is back on the big screen this week with his new movie The Adjustment Bureau - his third movie this year after The Hereafter and True Grit.
The Adjustment Bureau is released 4th March.
