Martin Campbell has described Quantum of Solace as 'lousy'
Campbell introduced the world to Daniel Craig's Bond back in 2006 with Casino Royale - a storyline that was continued in Quantum of Solace.
But Campbell admits that he was not a fan of Marc Foster's effort three years ago.
Speaking in a press conference from Green Lantern the director said: "Oh, I thought it was lousy
"I just thought the story was pretty uninteresting. I didn't think the action was related to the characters. I just thought overall it was a bit of a mess really."
However the filmmaker is expecting better things from Bond 23.
"Hopefully this next one will be terrific. Sam Mendes is directing it and I'm sure it'll be terrific."
Campbell is back in the director's chair for Green Lantern, an adaptation of the DC Comic character - Ryan Reynolds taking on the title character.
The movie is top of the box office in both the U.S. and UK despite mixed reviews from the critics.
