Mark Wahlberg has revealed that he was worried that Will Ferrell would not be the funny guy that we see on the big screen.
Wahlberg teams up with the Anchorman star for their new buddy cop movie The Other Guys, the movie sees Ferrell reunite with director Adam McKay on the project.
Speaking to FHM the actor said: "I was concerned because comedic actors are often the polar opposite of how they appear on screen.
"They're dark and moody, and I was worried about going in with someone who takes themselves extremely ... seriously.
"But Will is just like he is on screen, funny, cool, relaxed, very approachable, a family guy.
"I'm a bit self-conscious. I grew up in a tough neighbourhood - throughout my career I wanted approval from my peers back home and respect from guys in general."
After appearing in Date Night earlier in the year The Other Guys is the first big comedy role that Wahlberg has taken on during his career. The movie also stars Eva Mendes, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson.
Later this year Wahlberg swaps comedy for gritty drama when he takes on the role of boxer 'Irish' Mickey Ward in David O. Russell's latest project The Fighter.
The Other Guys is released 17th September.
