Mark Strong has admitted that he likes taking on roles of villains because he finds them interesting.
There have been a whole host of evil role of the British actors in recent times including Archy in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla, Lord Geoffrey Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes and Frank D'Amico in his latest movie Kick Ass.
In an interview with the Mirror the actor said: "They're my favourite - they're dark, interesting and multi-layered so I'm happy to play them.
"For now, I feel like I'm mining a rich vein of dark characters, but they're all different - in one of them, I'm a medieval knight, in another I'm an Italian-American gangster, the next one I'm an alien."
And that trend looks set to continue as he takes on the role of Sir Godfrey in Robin Hood before going on to play Sinestro in Green lantern.
2010 looks set to be a busy year for the actor with The Way Back, The Eagle of the Ninth and The Guard also in the pipeline.
