Mark Ruffalo has revealed that he working alongside Annette Bening and Julianne Moore in their new movie The Kids Are All Right made him up his game.
The movie, which got it's premiere at the London Film Festival earlier this week, is released on Friday and follows a lesbian couple who, after conceiving through artificial insemination, bring their birth father into their lives.
Speaking to the Press Association the actor said: "Rarely do you get to play with actors of that calibre in an ensemble.
"It's usually that you're supporting them in some way, but this movie felt we all had something great to do, to contribute. To be with actors like that you're game definitely comes up a bit.
"I liked the message of it. I liked that it felt honest. A real gay family that was having its problems. But it felt like any other family to me."
"And I just loved the character of Paul. He's fun, he's got a good heart but at the same time he's a child."
It's the second time that Ruffalo had worked with Moore, teaming up for Blindness back in 2008 and the actor admits that he was delighted to work with her again.
"I love her. We're good friends. She's a great actor. Annette too. Everyone is great in this.
And 2011 is set to be a busy year for Ruffalo as he has been cast as The Hulk in The Avengers, which is due out in 2012.
He has already completed work on Margaret and has Second Coming, which is also set to star Marion Cotillard, in the pipeline.
The Kids Are All Right is released 29th October.
