Man of Steel's new trailer will play in front of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Zack Snyder is back in the director's chair for the reboot of the Superman franchise - which will see Henry Cavill take over the role of Clark Kent.
Speaking to MTV the director said: "It's fun. I can't wait for The Hobbit, so it will be fun to see our crazy Man of Steel trailer and then enjoy The Hobbit because that's going to be great.
"It just feels like a fun Christmas thing to do, drag the whole family out for that action."
Trailers for The Wolverine and Star Trek Into Darkness had been rumoured to be the movies that would be previewed in front of Peter Jackson's new film.
However The Wolverine director James Mangold took to Twitter earlier this week to deny those rumours.
Man of Steel brings together an impressive cast that includes Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon.
The Man of Steel is released 14th June 2013.
