Maggie Gyllenhaal mastered her British accent in new movie Nanny McPhee Returns by mimicking the voice of director Susanna White.
The Crazy Heart star is a native New Yorker and admits she drew inspiration for her character's voice from the filmmaker, choosing to converse with other crew members on set in her fake accent to perfect the role.
She says, "I wanted to sound like Susanna so I just talked that way all the time.
"So I'd walk into the make up trailer and just start talking like that so they got used to it and I got used to it."
Gyllenhaal has found success with both Nanny McPhee and the big bang and Crazy Heart this year, the latter bringing her a best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination.
The actress is all set to work with Hugh Dancy and Ashley Jensen in new movie Hysteria.
