Logan Lerman has revealed that he was left battered and bruised whilst filming Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
The actor looks set to be propelled to fame with the central role and insisted on doing his own stunts throughout the movie shoot.
He told Contactmusic: "We were constantly learning a different fight scene or skill for the next action sequence.
"I was constantly bruised and beaten. You kind of just flow with it. It was something I wanted to do. It always looks better on camera when you are actually beating yourself up.
"I'd be spending all day underwater doing the scene, for a couple of minutes at a time. We'd go up, get some air, go back down and be holding yourself at the bottom while guys with scuba tanks would be feeding you air.
"We did a lot of dangerous stuff but that was probably the most nerve wracking."
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief has enjoyed success at both the U.S. and Australian box office and Lerman has been linked with the Spider Man role.
