Lily Collins has called Taylor Lautner's new role in Abduction a 'complete departure from Jacob.'
Lautner may be reprising the role of Jacob Black at the end of the year with Breaking Dawn: Part 1 but he will be back on the big screen in September with a new action movie.
Directed by John Singleton the movie follows a young man on the hunt to find the truth about his life when he finds his photograph on a missing person's website.
The movie sees Lautner team up with Lily Collins who believes that this role is a far cry from the one that made him a star.
Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course with his own twist on it.It's a complete departure from Jacob."
"Obviously I'm in the movie so I'm biased, but I think it's going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don't know him very well as Jacob, [people] that aren't Twilight fans.
"I think he brings an aspect people haven't seen yet and [it's] very, very exciting."
Despite appearing in The Blind Side last year Abduction is Collins' first big leading role - she is set to appear in Priest as well this year.
Abduction is released 30th September
