Leonardo DiCaprio admits that he is lucky to be an actor.
DiCaprio kicked off his acting career back in 1991 with Critters 3 before moving onto Poison Ivy and This Boy's Life. But it was his role as Arnie Grape in What's Eating Gilbert Grape that made everyone sit up and take note.
When talking about What's Eating Gilbert Grape with Shortlist the actor said: "That and This Boy’s Life, especially. Both those films I get quite nostalgic about.
"It’s sometimes emotional watching them because I feel like I’m that kid again - really just incredibly happy to have gotten a shot."
"I remember a lot of those moments on set like they were yesterday, especially working with people like De Niro and Johnny Depp at that age. It was like winning the lottery."
What's Eating Gilbert Grape saw the young actor pick up his first Oscar nomination, for Best Supporting Actor, and went onto roles such as The Quick and the Dead and The Basketball Diaries before coming a pin-up in 1997 after the success of Titanic.
While Titanic was a huge box office success it's in more recent years that DiCaprio has produced his best work with The Aviator, Blood Diamond and The Departed.
He is back on the big screen this week with his new movie Inception, which sees him team up with Christopher Nolan.
Inception is released 16th July.
