I had to do a lot of homework on the script, and I spent a lot of time writing. I feel like I'm caught up a little bit with that.
Precious director Lee Daniels is facing a race against time as he prepares to shoot new movie Selma with Hugh Jackman - because he's yet to cast the other major roles ahead of his May (10) start date.
The Oscar-nominated director has been hard at work perfecting the script for Selma, a movie about the Alabama town which hosted a historic civil rights march in 1965.
Jackman is confirmed to play state governor George Wallace, but Daniels admits the project is "all over the place" because he doesn't have any other actors signed up and the shoot is just two months away.
He tells USA Today, "I had to do a lot of homework on the script, and I spent a lot of time writing. I feel like I'm caught up a little bit with that. I have to really start casting the movie because we're shooting it soon. The only person I've nailed in for sure is Hugh Jackman. It's all over the place."
