Lars Von Trier's business partner Peter Aalbaek Jensen has rubbished claims that the director is in talks for a taxi Driver sequel.
Rumours surfaced this week that Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro were interested in bringing Travis Bickle back to the big screen, but it seems Trier isn't involved.
The new movie was rumoured to see De Niro reprise his role as troubled New York cab driver Travis Bickle in a sequel to the 1976 classic, which gained him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
But Von Trier's longtime producing partner Peter Aalbaek Jensen is adamant film fans shouldn't get their hopes up.
He tells ScreenDaily.com, "I have seen it (the story) in the Danish film magazine and what is written there is not true. (It's) rubbish."
The filmmakers's last project Antichrist, which starred Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, caused controversy upon it's release.
Trier has a couple of projects in the pipeline including A Royal Affair and Melancholia.
