Kristen Stewart has admitted that it would be easy for her to walk away from the Twilight franchise.
The young actress shot to fame at the end of 2008 when she took on the role of Stephenie Meyers' heroine Bella Swan in a big screen adaptation of the hit novel.
She told Digital Spy: I've totally had the thought; it would be so easy for me to send so many hundreds of girls into such a frenzy by saying I want no part of any future movies.
"Yeah, I have thought, many times. 'What could I do?' It'd be so easy."
The film was a massive box office hit, grossing $70 million in it's openeing weeked, which was more than predicted.
Almost immediately the sequels were given the green light and Stewart and co-star Robert Pattinson, who play the role of Edward Cullen, revealed that they were returning to their roles for New Moon and Eclipse.
However Catherine Hardwicke announced that she would not be returning to direct the sequel last week after claiming that the late 2009 or early 2010 scheduled release date was too soon and she felt that she would need to spend longer on the project.
And Chris Weitz, known for his movie About A Boy, will take over the role of director.
