Kristen Stewart has ruled herself out of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

Steig Larsson's popular novel was adapted into a successful movie last year but will now undergo a further adaptation into an English speaking movie.

Actresses such as Natalie Portman and Carey mulligan have all been linked to the central role of Lisbeth Salander but the Twilight star has ruled herself out because of other work commitments.

Speaking to MTV she said: She said: "I think I'm going to be working. I'm booked for, like, the next six months, but it's an incredible project.

"I hope someone really cool does it, because I can't wait to see it. But I don't know if it's going to be me."

The actress also admitted that she had not met up with the movie's director David Fincher to discuss the project: "I'm working, and he's really busy."

Stewart is all set to return to the role of Bella Swan in the fourth and final novel to be adapted for the big screen, however breaking Dawn is to be split into two movies.

Earlier this month it was also revealed that she will be starring in On The Road.
