Kirsten Dunst has revealed that she related to her all Good Things character.

The Spider Man actress is back on the big screen, alongside Ryan Gosling, in a murder mystery based on the most notorious unsolved murder case in New York history.

Dunst takes on the role of Kate and describes here character as being ‘torn down’ in the movie and she resonated with this after suffering with personal problems this year.

Speaking to Black Book magazine the actress said: "Katie had been torn down, and I know what it's like to lose yourself, to no longer know the difference between right and wrong.

"I was ready to play something like that. I had been living life on the surface, emotionally, and I was feeling really vulnerable, so I was prepared to do anything at that point."

All Good Things is the first movie for Dunst since comedy How To Lose Friends and Alienate People back in 2008.

But the actress has already completed work on Melancholia and Upside Down, the latter sees her star alongside Jim Sturgess.

She is currently working on On The Road with Kristen Stewart and has Hick in the pipeline.
