Kevin Feige has given away little hints as to what we might be able to expect from Iron Man 3.
Robert Downey Jr is currently flying high as part of Avengers Assemble but he is set to return to the role of Tony Stark later this year to film a third standalone movie.
Feige, who will serve as producer on the movie, hints that things are going to be getting tougher for Stark and he won't be able to call on his new friends for help.
Speaking to Empire magazine he said: "So Iron Man 3 has been structured specifically to be the antidote to The Avengers... Circumstances in the story separate Tony from having access to anything.
"We wanted to take Tony back to, metaphorically speaking, the cave from Iron Man, the first half of Iron Man, when he's cut off from the world and needs just focus on his intellects to get himself out of his situation.
"So he's not calling Thor, he's not calling Captain America, he can't press a special button to have the helicarrier come rescue him, so I think that'll be a nice complement to the team up of Avengers."
Gwyneth Paltrow will be returning to the role of Pepper Potts while Don Cheadle will also be back as Rhodes.
It was revealed earlier this month than Scarlett Johansson will be reprising the role of Black Widow but Guy Pearce will be one of the new faces on the cast list as Aldrich Killian.
Filming on the movie will get underway later this year.
