Kenneth Branagh has described Australian actors as good action heroes.
Branagh moves behind the camera this week for new Marvel Comic movie Thor, which sees Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth take on the title role.
Thor is the first big action blockbuster for the actor as well as this first time that Branagh has directed something on this scale.
And Branagh believes that Hemsworth 'knowing himself' helped him take on the central character.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph the filmmaker said: "They are not perplexed in the same way as some European males are about what else they should be, should they be a bit more soft and fuzzy or a bit more intellectual or whatever else they imagine women might want them to be.
"Chris has that sense of knowing himself a bit more, being at ease with being a bloke, but that not being an aggressive thing.
"He has that easy camaraderie, but he's also got all the other things a superhero has got to have - a great big gorgeous God body, a twinkle in his eye and Natalie Portman in his life."
Thor boasts an all star cast of Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo and Idris Elba.
Thor is released 27th April
