Keira Knightley has admitted that she thought her character of Ruth in new movie Never Let Me Go is 'horrible'.
The Oscar nominated actress teams up with Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield for the big screen adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's novel of the same name.
The movie is directed by Mark Romanek and opened the London Film Festival on Wednesday evening. And while Knightley admits that she found the project and the character exiting she wasn't very fond of her.
Speaking to Digital Spy on the red carpet at the London Film Festival the actress said: "I think she's horrible!"
"It was my job to know where she was coming from and that was what was challenging about it. When I first read the script I thought, 'I don't know who this is!
"She's very difficult'. That's what's wonderful about it and challenging and exciting."
Never Let Me Go is the first movie for Knightley since The Duchess back in 2008 but while she has not been on the big screen it has still been a busy year for the actress.
She has already completed work on London Boulevard, which also stars Colin Farrell, Last Night, with Sam Worthington and A Dangerous Method, which sees her work with filmmaker David Cronenberg.
Never Let Me Go is released 21st January.
