Keira Knightley says that it is hard to portray intimacy between two people on film.
The actress is back on the big screen in her new film Anna Karenina in which she takes on the title role.
The movie has elements of love and desire and the actress admits that that is one of the hardest emotions to capture on film.
Speaking to The Mirror the actress said: "I'm much more worried about revealing personal sides to myself, which I find harder to do," she said.
"The hardest thing to capture about love is the actual physical intimacy between two people.
"The way two people behave when they are next to each other and touching each other, holding hands, resting your head on your partner's shoulder.
"In your personal life, you generally don't think about the fact you're touching your partner. That's a difficult things to capture on film."
The movie by Joe Wright has already been highly praised and the film is surrounded in early Oscar banter.
There is a change of pace for the actress with her new project as she is currently filming the new Jack Ryan movie alongside Chris Pine.
Anna Karenina is out now.
