Keira Knightley has revealed that she likes working on sad movies.
The British actress was back on the big screen this weekend with her new movie Never Let Me Go, which saw her team up with Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield.
The movie is a big screen adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's popular novel and Knightley believes that sad movies are more challenging for her as an actress.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror the actress said: "Sad movies are often the fun ones to do - you have to dive into it.
"It was magic because it's mind-enriching. It's really challenging and difficult, but it brings huge rewards.
"I talked to people after a screening of Never Let Me Go and a lot of them were quite shaken."
"I'm in an incredibly privileged position where I can choose my work. I'm looking to be stimulated in things that I can put myself into which can teach me something about myself and the world.
Knightley is currently treading the boards in the West End in The Children's Hour but will be back with Last Night later this year.
She has also completed work on A Dangerous Method which also stars Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender.
Never Let Me Go Is Out now.
