Kat Dennings believes that Thor will appeal to women as much as a male audience because of the strong female characters.
The actress is back on the big screen as she takes on the role of Darcy in the latest Marvel Comic book movie.
And Dennings believes that the role of Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman and Sif, played by Jaimie Alexander, will bring women to the film
Speaking to Comic Book Movie the actress said: "There is a pretty great female presence in the film, with Jane Foster and Darcy and Sif also, and Frigga, Thor's mother.
The character of Darcy was created especially for the movie and never featured in the comics and Dennings believed that this made it easier for her to prepare for the role as she was starting with a clean slate.
"I sort of felt for me anyway, that I should sort of view the script as its own thing and now try to compare and contrast the previous stuff, and just treat it like its own little universe.
