Julia Roberts claims that director Gary Marshall made her appear in her latest movie Valentine's Day.
The pair worked together on both Pretty Woman, the role that made Roberts a star, and The Runaway Bride. The actress had hinted that she didn't want to return to the rom-com.
She told the Press Association: "Gary made me do it - it's not that I'm anti-romantic comedy, which always ends up being the favourite interpretation of me saying I don't want to do some specific thing."
"I like being funny, I like being romantic, it's just there aren't that many challenging difficult scripts to find that are original or interesting, particularly when you're 41.
"Gary found this great script and I think it's really sweet and refreshing and touching.
"The part that he asked me to play was incredibly appropriate to my sensibilities and how I feel about love and the world and I was more than happy to take the part."
Roberts is just one part of a great ensemble cast that includes Bradley Cooper, Jamie Fox, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba.
Valentine's Day is released 12th February.
