Julia Roberts has revealed that she was 'terrified' of working with Javier Bardem.
The pair star together in the big screen adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's Eat Pray Love, in which Roberts takes on the role of the author, and the actress admits she was surprised when Bardem was not the intense actor that she was expecting.
Speaking to Teen Hollywood the actress said: "It's been well reported that I was a little terrified to be around him after No Country For Old Men and I'm sorry to say at one point that he pulls out a picture of him from [that movie].
"I'd just gotten a grip on the way he really looks and then he gets me back. But, it was just great fun and play.
"He comes across as incredibly comfortable with his acting and his performing. It really does put you at ease. I said to him near the end, 'I thought you'd be so intense and broody and weird. I'd have to be handling you and stuff, and you're so sweet and funny and this was so easy'.
"He goes, 'I'm not normally. I just wanted to try it once to see how it works'. I said, 'I'm really glad that you did'."
Eat Pray Love has already opened at number two at the American box office and sees Roberts return to a major leading role, after being part of Valentine's Day earlier this year.
This is only the second movie of the year for Bardem after he starred in Biutiful, which was his first movie since Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Eat Pray love is released 24th September.
