Joss Whedon hopes that if a Buffy The Vampire Slayer movie goes ahead without his involvement that it is done well.
There has been talk of a return to the big screen for the popular TV franchise, that was created by Whedon, since 2010 and a screenplay was reported to be in the works.
But Whedon was not involved in the project and several of the TV cast had spoke out about the franchise returning.
Speaking to Digital Spy the director said: "Everybody grumbles. I basically say it's out of my control, so if they do it I hope they do it well."
At the moment it is still unclear whether Buffy Summers and co will appear on the big screen.
But Whedon has other things to worry about as Avengers Assemble sees him return to the director's chair at the end of the month.
The actor has brought Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye, Nick Fury & Black Widow together in one movie to battle the might of Loki.
Avengers Assemble is released 26th April.
