Josh Hutcherson has revealed that he would love to take on the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games.
The Suzanne Collins novel is being adapted for the big screen with Gary Ross attached to the project to direct.
And while the actor has met with the director about the movie and the role of Petta he admits that many actors are being looked at for the role.
Speaking at the SXSW Film Festival the actor said: "I love Peeta. The character is so much who I am - self-deprecating, a people person. And he'd be such a great character to play!"
"They're meeting a lot of people right now," Hutcherson said. "One can only dream."
Hutcherson was last seen on the big screen in critically acclaimed The Kids Are All Right but is set to star in horror movie Detention.
He has already completed work on Red Dawn, Carmel and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.
