Joseph Fiennes is concentrating on an acting career in TV.
The actor moved into television in 2009 with FlashForward and is set to star as Merlin in new series Camelot.
And the actor admits that he is keen to continue working on projects for the big screen.
Speaking to the Radio Times the actor said: "I look at the quality of drama and writing on television and I look at the generic, formulaic, clichéd five acts of film, and I kind of go, 'Which would I rather watch?'."
"Television is actually the big screen [because] everyone's got a plasma and surround sound. So now you can see the quality of a film on your television."
The actor revealed that he turned down a five film studio deal and Against The Current was the last film that he worked on .
"I was offered that, but I just wanted to be free," he explained. "I want to [be able to] say 'I've never done television, let's have a go at FlashForward'."
Fiennes leads an all star cast for Camelot which also stars Jamie Campbell Bower, Eva Green, Claire Forlani and Tamsin Egerton.
