Jonathan Liebesman has revealed that his new movie Wrath of the Titans has been inspired by Gladiator.
Liebesman is back in the director's chair to helm the sequel to last year's Clash of the Titans, which will see Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson and Gemma Arterton all reprise their roles.
Speaking to Collider the filmmaker said: "For me, taking Greek mythology and all that fantasy and putting it in a real world that’s epic, like Gladiator, like a big Ridley Scott movie.
"That’s what I was looking for, I was looking to come in and have a real, intense, visceral kick-ass experience with spectacle but grounded, with great actors, and that’s what the second one will be."
And we will be enjoying a Liebesman movie later this year when World Invasion: Battle LA finally hits the big screen.
Battle LA is his first movie since The Killing Room and a Marine platoon as they face off against an alien invasion in Los Angeles.
