Jonah Hill

Jonah Hill has revealed that he found working on his new movie Cyrus a struggle.

It's the first dramatic role for the funnyman, famed for roles in comedies such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad and Get Him To The Greek, but he struggled leaving his character behind at the end of the day.

He takes on the role of Cyrus a twenty one year old who is unwilling to share the attention of his mother with any other men.

In an interview with Total Film the actor said: "It's definitely more of a dramatic stretch for me.

"I'd say it was the first time ever it was difficult to go home at the end of the day and shake off what I was doing earlier in the day and just hang with my friends or girlfriend and be normal after playing such a severely affected guy."

Despite the struggle of the character Hill admits that the role has opened up other acting door for him.

"Bennett Miller, who directed Capote, saw this movie and cast me as the second lead in a baseball drama called Moneyball that stars Brad Pitt, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Wright. Cyrus already has done more than I could have imagined in that regard."

Hill is currently filming Moneyball and his next movie will be animation picture Megamind, which has already topped the American box office.

The Sitter 21 Jump Street and The Adventurer's Handbook are other movies that are on the horizon for the actor.

Cyrus is released 17th September.
