Jon Favreau has confirmed Harrison Ford will swing into action in upcoming blockbuster Cowboys and Aliens.
Robert Downey Jr. reportedly pulled out of the project to concentrate on filming a sequel to Sherlock Holmes, and recent rumours linked James Bond star Daniel Craig to the lead role in the film, based on the popular 2006 graphic novel.
Favreau has now opened up about the casting rumours, ending gossip by confirming veteran action hero Ford will playing a cowboy alongside Craig.
In a post on his Twitter.com page, Favreau writes, "Please stop asking if Harrison Ford is in Cowboys & Aliens. Okay? He is. Please don't tell anybody."
Cowboys and Aliens is scheduled for release in July 2011.
And Favreau is back in the director's chair at the end of the month with the release of Iron Man 2, two years after the first movie hit the big screen.
The movie sees the director reunite with Robert Downey Jr, who is returning to the role of Tony Stark.
Iron Man 2 is released 29th April.
