Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp has revealed that Alice In Wonderland was no real stretch for him as an actor.

The Oscar nominated star takes on the role of the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's re-telling of the popular story and believes that that character was already inside him.

Speaking to USA Today the actor said: "For me to play the Hatter wasn't a great stretch by any means."

"In a sense I think the character was kind of already blooming inside, ready to show its face."

Alice In Wonderland was the seventh project between the pair and is the most successful collaboration at the box office.

The movie has so far grossed over $568 million globally and remains the number one movie in the UK and U.S.

But 2010 looks set to be busy for the actor with The Rum Diaries currently in post production and he is filming The Tourist with Angelina Jolie.

And an eight movie between Depp and Burton could well be on the way in the form of Dark Shadows, remake of the sixties soap opera.
