Johnny Depp has described filmmaker and faired Tim Burton as his 'favourite mad person.'
The actor was in London to promote the pair's new movie Alice In Wonderland, their seventh collaboration together.
At the press conference for the movie the actor said: "My favourite mad person in the world? Tim. He is a mad person on some level but it's a madness that works for him obviously.
"At the risk of embarrassing him, I've always admired him for his commitment to his vision and the impossibility of compromise.
"He does exactly what he wants in his own very unique way. As far as I'm concerned he's one of the only true artists working in cinema, a real auteur. They're non-existent at this point. Tim is my favourite mad person."
Their partnership kicked off in the early nineties when Burton cast Depp in Edward Scissorhands. Since then they have worked on Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sweeney Todd.
And the pair are all se to reunite on an eighth project Dark Shadows, remake of the 1966-71 soap opera.
Alice In Wonderland is out now.
